Wiscasset Elementary spring fundraiser seeking donations

The P.I.E (Partners in Education) Committee is seeking donations for the upcoming "Mangia, Mangia" Pasta Supper and Raffle Spring fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, April 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wiscasset Elementary School.
Raffle items or gift certificates from local businesses or community member are requested. Sponsorships are also welcome.
A pasta supper, sides, desserts and drinks will be available for $5 per person or $20 maximum per family.
The money raised goes to provide swim lessons for all students in grades one through four at the Wiscasset Community Center. Over 120 students at Wiscasset Elementary benefit from this program.
The American Red Cross recently released sobering statistics on drowning: Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death of children ages 1-14. Research shows that if a child doesn’t learn to swim before the third grade, they likely never will.
Without the P.I.E-funded swim program many of the children at Wiscasset Elementary School would not have access to swimming lessons.
