“Superman vs Batman” Batman and Superman are on-screen together for the first time in this new $200 million super-hero extravaganza, the follow-up to “Man of Steel” (2013). This is also the first theatrical release to feature live-action portrayals of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg.

It's been nearly two years since Superman's (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis (in “Man of Steel”).

The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

Also staring Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane as Martha Kent, with Jesse Eisenberg, Lawrence Fishburn, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter.

“Batman vs Superman,” rated PG13, plays Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2, Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 3 at 2 pm.

Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” - the Met Live in HD: One of the world’s foremost “Butterflies,” Kristine Opolais, takes on the title role of the spurned geisha in Anthony Minghella’s breathtaking production, which has thrilled audiences ever since its 2006 premiere. Star tenor Roberto Alagna is the callous naval officer who breaks Butterfly’s heart. Karel Mark Chichon conducts. Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.

Berlin Philharmonic: “The Beethoven Project” featuring Symphony No. 4 in B flat major and Symphony No. 7 in A major, plus the documentary “Living with Beethoven.” A classical music exploration captured live with the Berlin Philharmonic and conductor, Sir Simon Rattle. Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m.
