'The Boat Show' at Kefauver Studio & Gallery
The Kefauver Studio & Gallery of Damariscotta presents “The Boat Show,” on exhibition now through July 31. The show features new work by oil painter Will Kefauver, and the work of his 20 guest artists. This is the second of five shows that will be presented this year each month with new guest artists.
The artwork will celebrate “all things boat” — an iconic part of life in Midcoast Maine. Artists present images and 3-dimensional works of pleasure crafts, working vessels, ropes, floats, and buoys, rendered in oils, acrylic, printmaking, gouache, watercolor, photography, and mixed media.
The guest artists represent an intriguing range of mediums and styles. They are: Dick Webster; who creates wooden “half-hull” models; Petrea Noyes, mixed media; Deborah Kozak, printmaker; photographers Claudia Griffiths, Tom Kostes, John Snyder and Al Trescot; pastel painters JoAnne Houlsen, Deborah Jellison, Patti Leavitt and Nancy Lovely; watercolor painters Jane Bowman, Lydia Kaeyer, Judy Nixon and Elizabeth Palmer; oil painters Stephen Busch and Julie Cyr, and Virginia Forrest who works in oil and in watercolor; and acrylic painters Gill Barclay and Axel Stohlberg.
Kefauver is an elected artist and president of the Pemaquid Group of Artists. He is a Signature Member of the National Society of Artists and of the Bristol Road Galleries, Damariscotta. The artist also teaches beginning and intermediate painting classes in oils and acrylics for teens and adults in his studio.
