Elaine M. Lemont
Elaine M. (Moore) Lemont, died September 29, 2016 in Brunswick with her family by her side.
She was born in Bath, on December 17, 1924, the daughter of Leon Trask Moore and Rose Emma (Trask) Moore of Edgecomb. She graduated from Lincoln Academy, class of 1942. After graduation, she was employed at Bath Iron Works, until 1950 when she left to raise her family.
On June 14, 1947, she married James “Bazin” Lemont Jr., and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. She was a loving wife and a very caring and understanding mom. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for her family. She always looked forward to gatherings with family and friends. She also had a passion for researching family genealogy.
Elaine, referred to as the “Tupperware Lady,” was a Tupperware consultant for 40 years. She belonged to the West Bath Grange, was a member of the Huse School PTA, Bath Historical Society, Pejepscot Genealogy Society, MOCA (Maine Old Cemetery Association) Daughters of the American Revolution, North Edgecomb Cemetery Association and the West Bath Historical Society.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband in 2006 and an infant great-grandson in 2016.
She leaves behind her five sons, James B. “Jay” Lemont III and his wife Fran of West Bath, David Lemont and his wife Gwen of Edgecomb, Kevin Lemont and his wife Karen of San Diego, California, Gary Lemont and his wife Karen of Fort Worth, Texas, and Daren Lemont of West Bath; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, it was Elaine’s wishes, that donations be made in her memory to the North Edgecomb Cemetery Association, C/O Mrs. Emily Smith, P.O. Box 55, Edgecomb, ME 04556.
A Time of Remembrance will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High Street, Bath from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 4 p.m.
