Early November classes at Adult Ed
During early November at Boothbay Region Adult Ed you can create a unique painted ornament for the holidays, experience different varieties of tea, or become more proficient using Microsoft Excel. A reminder to register in advance of the class and tell a friend. Most classes need a minimum number of people to run. If a class doesn't have enough people it will be canceled two days before it's scheduled.
Join Mary, owner of Merry Auld Tea Company, on Nov. 10 to explore the world of tea including the social aspects, some history, legends and health benefits. Taste a variety of premium teas. Learn to make the perfect cup of tea. Mary will also talk about how she blends teas such as her special tea for Harbor Fest. You will gain a whole new appreciation for the tea leaf and take home a sample packet of teas. (registration fee includes the sample tea packet). The time is 6 to 8 p.m. in the home sciences room at Boothbay Region Elementary School. The class fee is $18.
Are you protected when your hard disk fails or your files are corrupted? Are you ready to move your files to your next computer? Do you know what to back up or move? Learn about Backing Up and Moving Files in a one evening class on Nov. 14. Keep your files safe where to locate them, and how to recover lost files. Protect your documents using by back-up techniques The time is 6 to 8 p.m. and the cost is $15.
In Painted Ornament on Nov. 15 you'll create two unique holiday glass ornaments to give as gifts or keep to decorate your home! Jen will supply the ornaments and you choose colors and designs. Designs include snowflakes, Christmas trees, holly, or create your own design. Learn step-by-step techniques to paint the designs on the ornament. No experience needed for this fun class. As the old saying goes, "the more the merrier," so invite a friend or two. The time is 6 to 8 p.m. and the fee of $21 includes all supplies.
Do you use Excel and want to become more proficient? Adult Ed is offering three one evening classes. The first is on Tuesday, Nov. 8 about using Excel as a database for a membership list or business clients. Learn to analyze data and merge it with MS Word to send out a letter. On Nov. 10 you can learn to turn your data into useful charts and graphs. The third class is on Nov. 15 and will focus several of the most commonly-used functions that can make easy work of your spreadsheet calculations and set up. Each session costs $15 and meets from 6 to 8 p.m. You should have experience using Excel.
