Aromatherapy, cooking and more at Adult Ed
Winter is a great time to start soothing your mind and pampering your skin. In Aromatherapy: Salt Scrubs and Bath Soaks you'll learn to make amazing natural salt scrubs to moisturizer and exfoliate your skin. Relax and de-stress with soothing aromatic bath soaks. All are made with natural ingredients and essential oils. You will take home one jar each of salts and bath soaks. This is a one evening class on Monday, March 13, 6-8 p.m. The fee is $24 which includes the sample jars to take home.
There are a few spaces available in Alex Tallen's French Country Bread class on Thursday, March 9, 6-8:30 p.m. Learn to make crusty loaves of bread with natural leaven. You'll also learn how it differs from commercial yeast, and why kneading bread dough is often unnecessary. Alex will show you how to shape a loaf and the best techniques for baking bread in your home oven. The cost is $24, which includes supplied. (Please bring a small bowl and woven dish cloth if you would like to bring bread dough home with you).
A Babysitter training class is being offered on March 16 and 17 (teacher inservice days) at the elementary school from 1 to 4 p.m. This six-hour course will provide age 11-15 year olds who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants as well as training in first aid. The cost is $65, which includes the babysitter's handbook.
Inland Fisheries and Wildlife instructors will be conducting a Hunter Safety course on March 14, 21 and 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. Proper gun and rifle handling as well as procedure will be included in this course. Recommended for first time hunters (over 10 years of age) if they are going to be applying for a hunting license. A certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion. Note: Three mandatory classroom days combined home study. The fee is $10.
