Babysitter training course at adult ed
This six-hour course taught by a certified instructor provides 11 to 15 year olds who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. In addition it offers hands-on skills practice and additional training in first aid. In class, you'll learn how to: respond to emergencies with first aid, rescue breathing and more; making good decisions under pressure; recognize safety and hygiene issues; how to feed, diaper and care for infants; and communicating effectively with parents (the fee includes a babysitter handbook).
The course is on two Wednesdays, April 26 and May 3 from 2 to 5 p.m at Boothbay Region Elementary School. The cost is $65. Please register by April 24.
