The following courses are being offered through Central Lincoln County Adult Education.
“Spring Eye” make-up tutorial
Join instructor Katie Hagar for “Spring Eye” make-up tutorial on Thursday, April 27 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Hagar Enterprises in Damariscotta.
Students will learn 4 zone eye color applications including highlighting and contouring and how to do eye brow shaping and defining. Plus there will be a natural color eye palette demonstration as well as a spring color pallette demonstration on a live model The cost of the course is $24 and there is a $5 materials fee payable to the instructor the night of class.
Hagar is a professional Merle Norman make-up artist and local hair stylist with five years’ experience.
Hot Off the Grill!
Join Stonewall Kitchen Cooking Instructor, Chef Chris Toy for a one night course and experience the sizzling flavors of a posh cook out in Hot Off the Grill! The course is being offered on Thursday, April 27 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Nobleboro Central School.
Participants will learn how to prepare a mixed grill of teriyaki chicken, cedar planked maple salmon and pepper ribeye steak. Add a side of roasted vegetables on the grill will garlic, olive oil, and spices, plus a grilled dessert and the result is one delicious dinner!
The price of the course, including all food costs $39.
Notary Public Training
CLCA is offering a one-day Notary Public training course taught by Sherry Tibbetts on Saturday, April 29 at the CLCA office in Damariscotta from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A workbook will be provided. The material covered will include the application and requirements for notaries, the duties and tasks performed by the notary, and the rules governing notaries. The cost of the course is $49.
Eats and Drinks Tour
One does not have to go far in Midcoast Maine to enjoy some sweet treats, flavorful olive oils and vinegars, or a mouth-watering meal. Likewise Midcoast Maine boasts some tasty home-brewed ales, savory wines and world famous gin. Enjoy them all in the Eats and Drinks Tour on Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The tour will begin at Bixby & Co. in Rockland where participants will sample everything from Bixby Bars and Bites to Drinking Chocolate. Then the sweet will be tempered with a visit to FIORE Artisan Olive Oils & Vinegars. There is no charge for the tasting and attendees will be given a 10 percent discount on all purchases made that day. Lunch will be on your own at Rock Harbor Pub and Brewery. The afternoon will be spent sampling wines at Savage Oakes Vineyard & Winery and Sweetgrass Farm Winery & Distillery in Union.
The cost of the trip is $60 and includes transportation in a chartered coach bus, and most tastings. Lunch and a $5 tasting fee at Sweetgrass are not included. There will be pickups in Bath, Wiscasset, Damariscotta and Waldoboro. No refunds after May 1.
