Wilmot releases video on energy project ahead of vote
Wiscasset Superintendent of Schools Heather Wilmot on Friday reached out to schools’ families with a Youtubevideo she made about buildings’ needs, ahead of the June 13 town vote on a $1.7 million energy project. The department has sought the project to address lighting and other items.
Wilmot’s June 2 message notes the proposal voters face has the School Committee’s and Budget Committee’s support. In an email response Monday, Wilmot explained her decision to make the video. “I have received positive feedback on my audio-guided budget presentations. It is important to me that residents of Wiscasset have a complete understanding of the school department’s need to improve learning environments and address deferred maintenance of our buildings.
“It is my goal to educate voters regarding the energy conservation project so that they can make an informed decision,” Wilmot wrote.
