Register for summer reading program
“Be A Builder!” The Wiscasset Public Library Summer Reading Program begins in five days. Come to the library and register between June 20 and July 7. Each reader/listener will receive a carpenter’s apron filled with tools for the program: book-title log, bookmark, activity sheet with stickers, a list of all our programs and special events and more.
Each week during the program, readers will have building projects to work on, games to play, songs to sing, and books to read. Five exciting “Build a Better World” programs are planned for the summer.
The Wiscasset Garden Club will build a better world by planting marigolds with the children on Tuesday, June 27 at 10 a.m. Matt Loosigian, award winning musician of Earth Jam, specializing in playful, funny songs about ecology and being green, will entertain us on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m.
Wind Over Wings brings four magnificent, non-releasable “birds of the wild” on Tuesday, July 18 at 10:30 a.m. The second annual Family Day at Castle Tucker takes place on Wednesday, July 26. “Story Time on the Lawn” begins at 10:30 a.m. Lawn games and Castle tours will be from noon to 2 p.m. And Chewonki Foundation will bring its new program, “Biomimicry” to the library on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m.
Don’t miss out on how to Build a Better World. Hope to see you at the library!
