AARP Driver Safety Class April 7
On Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center will host an AARP Driver Safety Class. AARP instructor Joyce Polyniak will teach the course at Spectrum Generations, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta.
All participants who successfully complete the course may be eligible for a reduction in automobile insurance premiums. The class size is limited to the first 12 community members (age 50 and above) who register and the cost for the class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.
This class was developed by the AARP in 1979 as a driver refresher course especially designed to meet the needs of older drivers. It covers such issues as age-related physical changes, declining perceptual skills, local driving problems, license renewal requirements, and much more. It is designed to remind the mature members of our community of the skills and techniques that we may have once learned and of the changes that occur in ourselves, our cars and the roads. Class participation is strongly encouraged so that we may share our experiences.
There is a half-hour break scheduled for your brown bag lunch. To reserve your seat call Spectrum at 563-1363. Seasonal residents and visitors are always welcome.
