The music of Vienna and the world highlight Abend Musik, concerts of classical music presented at St. Patrick Church, 380 Academy Hill Road in Newcastle, Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. in July and August.

The first of the musical presentations, The Diva and The Fiddler - soprano Diana Jacklin and violinist Hartmut Ometzberger - opens July 17. Since 2007, this unique duo has performed throughout Europe, Great Britain and the United States. These talented performers bring their special brand of classical vocal and violin music to the concert stage as the only voice and violin duo in the world.

The Diva and the Fiddler combine their talents in a second offering, Who's Afraid of Opera?, on July 24 with music of Mozart, Puccini, Wagner, and Strauss. Your evening of opera will resound with the comedy, drama and the vocal brilliance of the operatic stage.

Abend Musik continues on August 7 with the vocal artistry of baritone John Reinhardt and Sean Fleming, piano-forte, performing music from Vienna by Schubert, Brahms, Schumann, Mozart and Wagner.
