‘America Now, A Dialogue …’ opening Oct. 20
A group of artists, living and working in Maine, have come together to present the exhibition “America Now, a dialogue.” The exhibition is focused on artistic creativity in a country divided against itself and considers the purpose and function of the arts in times of social and political stress hosted by the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine.
Curated by Bruce Brown, this show will include paintings, prints, photographs, and installations of the following artists: Judith Allen-Efstathiou, Joanne Arnold, Kim Barnard, Brendan Bullock, Nancy Davison, Kenneth Eason, Nick Gervin, Judy Glickman-Lauder, Derek Jackson, Erin Johnson, Alan Magee, George Mason, Natasha Mayers, Ed McCartan, Leonard Meiselman, Jack Montgomery, Hans Nielsen, Mathew O’Donnell, Roland Salazar Rose, Claire Seidl, Abigail Shahn, Robert Shetterly, Susan Smith, Gail Skudera, Dave Wade, Mary Becker Weiss, Deanna M. Witman, and Edward Zelinsky.
“America Now, A Dialogue” is under the direction of HHRC Program Director David Greenham. The exhibition may also be viewed at https://americanowexhibit.com as of Oct. 20.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5-8 p.m. at the exhibit at the Michael Klahr Center at HHRC, 46 University Drive, Augusta.
