Arrest made in Edgecomb homicide of 3-year-old
On Friday morning, Oct. 6, detectives with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central arrested 29-year-old Tyler Witham-Jordan of Edgecomb, charging him with murder in connection with the Christmas 2022 death of 3-year-old Makinzlee Handrahan. On Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022 at about 7:37 a.m., Lincoln County Communications Center received a 911 call in Edgecomb for a 3-year-old who was not breathing.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta conducted an autopsy and ruled the death a homicide. The cause of death is being withheld at this time.
At the time of Makinzlee’s death, Witham-Jordan was her mother’s boyfriend. He has been transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. His first court appearance will most likely be the week of Oct. 9.
