Audrey Bechler to exhibit at Miles
Audrey Bechler’s paintings will be on exhibit at the Miles Memorial Hospital Hall Gallery in Damariscotta June 18 through July 29.
Bechler, a very well-known local artist in the region, she lived on the Back Cove in Waldoboro, recently relocated to Oregon. This exhibit primarily consists of paintings that she did on location in and around her home there.
Bechler has always been drawn to the water and many of her works depict the shores and views of her cove. She is constantly striving for harmony and balance in her work
“Because we are connected to each other and all of nature – to the earth itself- for me, art and life are reflections of each other,” Bechler said.
She also enjoys painting abstractly, uniting colors and shapes without attachment to recognizable forms – however, even her abstract paintings are inspired by what she sees.
Audrey Bechler plans to continue her painting career in Oregon, relying on memories and photographs of Maine, while also exploring the woods and the Willamette River near her new home.
Miles Memorial Hospital is located at 35 Miles Street, off the Bristol Road.
