Boothbay man indicted for child pornography
A Boothbay man has pleaded not guilty to more than 20 counts alleging he possessed and dispensed child pornography.
Philip Gregory, 50, of Boothbay was charged with two counts of dissemination of sexually explicit material on September 9, of last year.
A month later, on October 10, and after an investigation, Gregory was charged with 20 counts of possessing sexually explicit materials.
During a May 1 arraignment at the Lincoln County Superior Court, Gregory plead not guilty.
Gregory faces one Class B charge of dissemination to go along with 11 Class C crimes and 10 Class D crimes.
If convicted, Class B crimes have a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines, Class C crimes bring a maximum five year prison sentence or up to a $5,000 fine and class D crimes, which are misdemeanors, carry up to a 364 day jail stay and up to a $2,000 fine.
As part of bail conditions, Gregory was ordered to have no access to the Internet and no contact with minors under 16 years of age.
