BRAF’s August Show: ‘Something for Everyone II’
Boothbay Region Art Foundation’s (BRAF) newly-installed Members’ Show seems to define creative diversity coupled with the saying “great minds think alike.”. As such, our featured artists are the sum total of 92 local and regional artists who deliver an entertaining variety of mediums, styles and themes.
In addition to the regular members’ show, BRAF is sponsoring a special solo-artist-exhibit in the upstairs Harbor View Room. Pemaquid artist Marcia Brandwein has installed a collection of her oil and pastel paintings entitled “Nature’s Beauty.” This body of work expresses the source of Marcia’s inspiration, stemming from all-things-Maine.
The upstairs Gallery One Room is featuring “Carol Jessen’s Watercolor World,” a memorial show for an artist from Missouri who spent 40 summers in Boothbay Harbor, and was a prolific artist, teacher, and story-teller.
Our Foundation continues to feature a swinging door of donated 12” x 12” canvases, painted by artist/members. Proceeds help to cover our overhead costs.
Our non-profit mission - to give encouragement, support, a venue and publicity for local artists- has kept us in business for 57 years.
Please visit our gallery, located at 1 Townsend Ave. in downtown Boothbay Harbor. Open hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m .to 5 p.m. Sundays.
