Career Day at WMHS
Wiscasset Middle High School held a Career Day for students May 17. All students could arrange their own schedule to take part in presentations by panels made up of people from many different professions.
Over 20 people from the trades, helping careers, business owners, tourism and hospitality and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) workers came to present students with information on their jobs and the steps needed to reach their positions. Some were local and some traveled from a distance to speak with students during the three-session workshop.
Red's Eats owner Debbie Gagnon said, "It was so nice to share my experiences with the students! What a great group of young people!" Gagnon's participation on one of the seven panels brought several students’ positive reactions to the day.
