Clarence W. Burnham
Clarence W. Burnham, 70, of Southport, died Oct. 30, 2016 at Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine.
Clarence was born in Boothbay Harbor. He attended schools in Phillips, Maine before returning to the Boothbay region (Barters Island) where he grew up. He was the son of Herbert Burnham and Florence Campbell. Growing up he was a lobsterman, as he loved being on and around the water. He worked for Job Corps for two years, prior to employment as a shipfitter at Bath Iron Works from 1973 to 2007. Clarence was a hard worker, strong, independent and loyal. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family, and loved his grandchildren very much.
Clarence was predeceased by parents, Herbert and Florence (Campbell) Burnham; niece, Debbie Campbell, sister-in-law, Pat Campbell and brother-in-law Maurice Nichols.
He is survived by daughters,Roseanne Burnham of Wiscasset and Velma and (Silk) Garricks of Wiscasset; son, Herbert Burnham and his wife Shelley of Southport; brother, Charles Campbell of Rockland; grandchildren, Clarence Burnham and Lillian Burnham, both of Southport, D’Nisha Dawkins, D’Antae Dawkins, Jevar Garricks, and Giovanni Garricks, all of Wiscasset; mother of his children, Jean Simmons of Waldoboro; brother-in-law, David Nichols and wife Rita of Newcastle; best longtime friend, Raymond Swett of Southport; nieces, Lisa Walby of Boothbay and Tanya Landy of Boothbay; nephews, Merton Campbell of Alna and Robbie Campbell of Barters Island; and several other loved ones.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
