Class of 2020 senior gifts and Project graduation
Boothbay Region High School seniors Madison Faulkingham, Ally Nein and Colby Babcock presented gifts to their Class of 2020 peers June 3. The gifts were a symbol of the value each student has to their peers. So, many of the gifts were inside jokes. And students expressed happiness and thankfulness in one of the last days leading up to graduation.
The class’s favorite couple, Hunter Crocker and Chloe Arsenault, received matching shirts “so they can always be together,” Faulkingham said.
Brogan Barter and Clarence Burnham received tape measures as they prepare for futures in carpentry; Mark Bayaca and Jackie Steinmetz got luggage tags since they will each taking a year off to travel; Lauren Barclay got a sketch pad to continue her artwork; Stephen Bennett got a sticker proving he’s “faster than a speeding ticket”; Michael Cusumano got a scuba mask for practicing; Hali Goodwin got an engineering-themed sticker; Michael Hollowell got spy glasses for his future in cyber security; Rowan Kristan got a Lego boat set so he can “be a pro” before going to Maine Maritime Academy; Nicholas Morley got a Trump flag; Nein received a psychology-based game; Tim Norton got a tripod for his phone to help toward his first feature film; Kelsey Hoyle and Will Perkins got “late passes”; Quinn Ranta got jumper cables as he goes into the automotive field; Josey Smith got a muscle roller ahead of her next field hockey season; Kaitlyn Tuttle got some coffee in preparation for her career in early childhood education; and Jaden Welsh got a book about building a successful business.
Nein presented Faulkingham with a step stool. Said Nein, “We know you’re always looking up to us, so here’s a step stool so that we can occasionally look up to you.”
Zach Goodwin and Jordan Pait received cookbooks as they enter the culinary field. “We are expecting you guys to make us something from it,” Faulkingham said.
Said Faulkingham, Ethan Barter, soon to be full time at Pinkham’s Gourmet Market, got a wallet. “(And) we got you a wallet because we know you’ll be making it rain with all the money you’re making at Pinkham’s.”
