DaPonte String Quartet’s November concert dates
The DaPonte String Quartet will perform its Winter Series I: Enemies of the State concerts beginning Nov. 5. The program is composed of works by Mozart, Shostakovich and Schulhoff.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791): Quartet in A Major, K. 464, Allegro non troppo, Andante con moto, Menuetto and Trio, Allegro vivace; Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975): the String Quartet in C Minor, Op. 110; and from Erwin Schulhoff (1894-1942): String Quartet No. 1 (1924) Presto con fuoco; Allegretto con moto e con malinconia grotesca; Allegro giocoso alla Slovacca and Andante molto sostenuto.
Concert dates and locations
DaPonte plays at the Jewish Museum, 267 Congress Street, a new Portland venue, on Thursday, Nov. 5 7:30 p.m.; at the Lincoln Theater, 2 Theater Street in Damariscotta on Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; in Boothbay Harbor at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m.; at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, another new venue, this one in Brunswick located at 2 Elm Street on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.; and in Thomaston at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m.
Tickets, all general admission, are available at the door, from www.daponte.org, or from the following locations: Maine Coast Books and the River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta; Gulf of Maine Books, Brunswick, and Longfellow Books, Monument Square, Portland.
Unless otherwise specified, tickets are $20 for adults and admission is free for all under 21.
