DaPonte's new CD recorded at Alna's Head Tide Church
The DaPonte String Quartet is happy to announce the arrival of its newest CD, "Pathways to Healing: Music of Mendelssohn and Beethoven." Recorded at historic Head Tide Church in Alna and produced by 11-time Grammy wiinner Bob Ludwig of Gateway Mastering, the CD includes Felix Mendelssohn's masterful string quartet Opus 13, published when he was just 19 years old, and the work that inspired it, Ludwig van Beethoven's magisterial quartet Opus 132. Both works, written within two years of each other, share the same goal: exploring the restoration of health, especially emotional health, through musical means.
Recorded on the Centaur Records label, the CD is available for advance purchase on the group’s website, www.DaPonte.org, and ships Sept. 26. It will be available in retail stores nationally and internationally in the coming months and will also be available on iTunes.
Those wanting to get their hands on an early copy are invited to attend “FanFare,” a CD launch party and celebration of the work of the Quartet, on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m. at Kiueve-Wavus in Jefferson. Tickets are $50 and are available at www.DaPonte.com or by calling 207-529-4555.
