Edgecomb Historical Society sponsors January speaker series
To launch Edgecomb’s 250th Birthday Year, the Edgecomb Historical Society will host two acclaimed speakers during the month of January.
“Four Amazing Centuries of Edgecomb History” with historian Chip Griffin has been rescheduled to Sunday, Jan. 14, 3 p.m. at the Merry Barn, 417 River Road, Edgecomb.
“Fort Edgecomb on the Sheepscot 1809 - 1815” with James Kochan. On Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. at the Merry Barn, renowned historian and curator, James Kochan, will discuss the lives and times of the people who were stationed in and around Fort Edgecomb during the Embargo and War of 1812. The talk will describe the use of the Fort within the context of the duties and personal lives of its occupants.
These events are free and will be followed by refreshments prepared by Edgecomb’s Sunset Hill Farm.
