Former Wiscasset man pleads guilty to heroin trafficking
A former Wiscasset man has plead guilty to the unlawful trafficking of heroin.
Travis Crowley, who currently lives in Dresden, pleaded guilty April 18 to unlawful trafficking.
Crowley only pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in scheduled drugs, which is a Class B crime. He will serve nine months in jail and three years of probation. The maximum sentence on a Class B crime is 10 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines.
Crowley's wife, Carol, 26, had previously plead guilty to one count of trafficking in scheduled drugs in exchange for having the other two charges dropped. She was sentenced to two years in prison, with all but 90 days suspended and two years of probation.
The pair was arrested August 9 last year after the Mid Coast District Task Force, Wiscasset Police Department, Lincoln and Sagadahoc Sheriffs executed a search warrant on the couple's Gardiner Road residence.
During that search, officers discovered more than three grams of heroine, a cutting agent called inositol, methadone, suboxone and fentanyl patches.
A day after the Crowleys were arrested, two people from Brooklyn, N.Y. were arrested in Wiscasset and charged with aggravated trafficking.
Amandalee Ayala, 26, and Angel Luis Miranda, 35, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., were found to be carrying more than 21 grams of heroin and were arrested soon after.
