Hate has no place
Dear Editor:
My name is Tricia Warren and I am running for HD 48 as a Republican candidate. I am in support of trade schools, our fishing industry, sensible energy policies, fiscal stewardship and personal accountability. I don’t support the huge financial investment by special interests or political action committees (“PACs”) in politics.
PACs can create and distribute any messaging they deem appropriate unbeknownst to candidates so I am writing to set the record straight. While your social and/or media feeds may incite addictive behaviors that create divisiveness, fuel disinformation and promote political radicalism, that is not what I represent. The Republican Party was founded on equal rights for all and I do not support hate speech of any kind.
I am running for office because I love our community, our broader district and the great state of Maine. I believe that, fundamentally, as a community, we share similar goals but that big tech and the national media is driving a wedge through our society. In this election season, I hope every voter truly evaluates the individual running for office and makes an informed decision on Nov. 8. I will be knocking on doors in my district until election day so I hope to meet each of you in the process.
Hate has no place in my heart nor my campaign. I look forward to speaking soon.
Tricia Warren
