House fire on Foye Road
Occupants of a home at 122 Foye Road in Wiscasset all managed to get out safely during an upstairs bedroom fire on October 13, Wiscasset Fire Chief T.J. Merry said.
The fire was already partly extinguished when firefighters arrived and quickly finished putting it out, Merry said at the scene.
The Wiscasset fire and police departments were investigating for a cause, Merry said.
Asked if the fire was considered suspicious, Wiscasset Police Officer Donald Smith said, “Absolutely not.”
About 10 Wiscasset firefighters worked at the scene and left around 8 a.m. The initial report of smoke in the home came in around 6:40 a.m., Merry said.
The Wiscasset Newspaper's attempts on October 15 to get further information from police and fire officials about the fire investigation were unsuccessful.
The Wiscasset police log for October 13 lists a summons issued to Colby Mansur, 23, of 122 Foye Road, Wiscasset, on a charge of cultivating marijuana. The log does not state where the summons was issued and the summons was not available for viewing the afternoon of October 15.
