Jack L. Nisbet
Jack L. Nisbet, 78, of Boothbay, Maine died Sept. 24, 2016 after a brief illness.
Jack was born in Augusta, Maine on March 7, 1938 to parents Arthur and Ann (Campbell) Nisbet. Jack was the husband of Leona “Lee” Attenasio Nisbet.
Jack attended and graduated from Augusta public schools. Jack was a graduate of the University of Maine, Orono campus where he earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He would continue his education earning an M.S. in computer science from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
Jack spent the majority of his working career as a staff engineer at the C. S. Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While at Draper, he worked on projects for major missile systems and guidance system technology.
Jack was a member of the C.S. Draper Quarter Century Club; and life member of the Southborough Rod and Gun Club in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, as well as the Boothbay Region Fish & Game Association. Jack was a 57-year member of the Bethleham #35 Lodge of Masons in Augusta, Maine along with dual membership in Bayview #96, Boothbay Lodge of Masons.
Jack was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed boating and spending time at his vacation home in Jackman, Maine, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and a host of other outdoor activities, until it was time to spend winters at his winter residence in Key West, Florida.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Elton Nisbet.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of Boothbay; many relatives, including a sister, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He also leaves his beloved pets, Denali, Talli and Mitzi.
