Judith A. Fox
Judith Ann Fox of Topsham died in the early evening of Dec. 15, 2016, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, following a lengthy series of illnesses.
She was born on April 3, 1943 in Boothbay Harbor, the daughter of Miles and Lorraine Nickerson. Judith attended Boothbay Harbor Grammar School on School Street and graduated from Boothbay Region High School in 1963. She graduated from Penn Hall College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania in 1968. Judith was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Portland, Maine, and retired from the company in 1986. She later worked at Sherman's in Freeport.
She chose to live, and run, the 150-year-old family homestead of her great-great-grandparents in Topsham. Her deep respect and love for animals — and her cat, Millie — helped to make her retirement a a happy one. Judith was very artistic and designed and painted note cards that she donated to animal shelters to be sold to help with the care of the animals.
Judith is survived by her mother, Loraine Nickerson of Boothbay Harbor; daughter, Sarah E. Passage; son-in-law, Warren Passage; and granddog Maggie, all of Michigan.
At her request, there will not be any services. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter/Boothbay Region Humane Society, P.O. Box 7, Edgecomb, Maine, 04556.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hall’s of Boothbay.
