Lichtinger joins CTL’s faculty
The Center for Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce that Corbin Lichtinger joined faculty as CTL's first and second grade teacher this fall. During the first months of the school year, Lichtinger has brought expertise, passion for learning, and creativity to the primary grades. He has also created opportunities for students to connect with professional authors in the Midcoast Maine community.
Lichtinger and his family recently moved from Portland, Oregon, where he taught first and second grades the past seven years. He has a BA in political science and environmental Studies from Allegheny College and a master of arts in teaching from Lewis and Clark College. His interests include gardening, the outdoors, and healthy food in schools.
During Lichtinger's interviews, his student-centered focus and his experience with reading workshop, writing workshop, and math workshop stood out to the hiring committee. His glowing references enthusiastically described the warm atmosphere he creates in the classroom, the strong and deep relationships he forms with kids and families, and his flexibility, positivity, and reliability.
CTL is delighted to welcome Corbin Lichtinger to the team. He is well-positioned to help CTL advance the school’s interests and develop deeper connections with both current families and community members throughout the Midcoast.
