Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: 6 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 264 calls for service for the period of Feb. 27 to March 5. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 2,050 calls for service.
Summonses
William R. Hanscom, 41, of Dresden was issued a summons March 1 for Failure to Submit to Finger Printing, on Perry Drive, Dresden, by Detective Ryan Chubbuck.
Robert J. Saxton, 19, of Wiscasset was issued a summons March 3 for Minor Possessing Liquor, on Cochran Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Arrests
Timothy Rose, 30, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested Feb. 27 for Terrorizing and Violation of a Protection Order, on St. Andrews Lane, Boothbay Harbor, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.
Brendon M. McLellan, 37, of Edgecomb was arrested Feb. 29 on a Cumberland County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug charge and Violating Condition of Release, on River Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Daniel R. Roy, 37, of Appleton was arrested Feb. 29 on two Penobscot County warrants for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer x 2, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Evan S. Benz, 39, of Wiscasset was arrested March 1 for Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs – Fentanyl, on Old Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Brandon Boshea, 32, of Bath was arrested March 1 on a Sagadahoc County affidavit warrant, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Nicholas Brown, 22, of Arrowsic was arrested March 2 on a West Bath District Court warrant for Failure to Appear, on Hodge Street, Wiscasset, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Accidents
On March 1, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving John R. Rice, 18, of Nobleboro and Tyler M. Balsdon, 43, of Boothbay. Mr. Rice was operating his 2010 Subaru Forester northbound and Mr. Balsdon was operating his 2023 Peterbuilt 567 truck southbound, when Mr. Rice stated he was looking down at his phone and drifted into the opposite lane (southbound). As a result, Mr. Rice struck Balsdon’s vehicle. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On March 1, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Carl Nord, 70, of Damariscotta and David Cronk, 65, of Wiscasset. Mr. Nord was operating his 2023 Subaru Outback northbound and Mr. Cronk was operating his 2022 Dodge 3500 southbound when hay bales fell out of Cronk’s truck. As a result, Nord struck the hay bales, causing functional damage to his vehicle. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On March 2, an accident occurred on Pond Road in Newcastle involving Peter A. Gay, 32, of Nobleboro. Mr. Gay was operating his 2007 GMC Sierra southbound when his vehicle went off the roadway on the right, coming back onto the roadway and crossing the centerline, before going off the roadway on the left and striking a telephone pole. His vehicle then became fully engulfed in fire and was destroyed. Mr. Gay stated he had fallen asleep. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On March 2, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving Nicholas B. Brown, 22, of Arrowsic and Ronald N. Rochefort, 74, of Dayton. Mr. Rochefort had stopped his 2023 GMC Acadia at the crosswalk for a pedestrian, when Mr. Brown failed to stop in time and struck Rochefort from behind with his 2015 Ford Fusion. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.
