Midcoast Senior College presents 14 new classes this fall
Midcoast Senior College brings classes to seniors interested in lifelong learning. The following new courses begin the week of Sept. 9 and run through Nov. 1, 2024. Courses are four- to eight weeks long and are either in-person or online (Zoom). No grades, no exams, join MSC for learning for the fun of it! Registration for the following courses opens on Aug. 12.
In the Beginning: Selections from Genesis and Exodus 9:30-11:00 a.m. 7-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/9 (no class 10/14) with Frank Strasburger.
So You Wanna Be a Composer 9:30-11 a.m. 4-week, 90-minute in-person begins 9/9 with Mort Achter.
Dante’s Divine Comedy: Inferno 1-2:30 p.m. 6-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/9 (no class 10/14) with George Young.
The Electoral College: Creation, Evolution, Controversy 1-2:30 p.m. 6-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/16 (no class 10/14) with Jim Bunting.
ASL Handshapes and Simple Sentences 9:30-11 a.m. 4-week, 90-minute in-person workshop begins 9/17 with Martin Samelson.
The Pursuit of Equality 9:30-11:30 a.m. 8-week, 120-minute online course begins 9/10 with Doug Bennett.
Reading Guide in French 1-2:30 p.m. 8-week, 60-minute in-person course begins 9/10 with Jayne Boisvert.
Psychological Experience 1-2:30 p.m. 8-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/10 with Joseph de Rivera.
Paying Attention to Attention 9:30-11 a.m. 6-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/11 with Raymond Boisvert.
A Self-Guided Tour of Merrymeeting Bay 9:30-11 a.m. 6-week, 90-minute online course begins 9/11 with Terry Porter.
Classical Architecture 1-2:30 p.m. 6-week, 90-minute online course begins 9/11 with David Spurr.
Divided America, 1600-1945 3-4:30 p.m. 6-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/11 with Scott Andrews.
The U.S. Supreme Court and the October 2023-June 2024 Term 9:30-11 a.m. 8-week, 90-minute online course begins 9/12 with Kevin Hart.
Impeachment: Constitutional History and Issues 1-2:30 p.m. 8-week, 90-minute in-person course begins 9/12 with H. Lowell Brown.

The annual $40 membership fee is valid from July 1 through June 30 of each calendar year. All courses are $60 per person.
