Murder suspect arrested
The man wanted in connection to a double-shooting August 28 in Belfast has been located and arrested at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
According to state Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland Thursday morning, Todd Gilday, 44, of Belfast, went to the hospital sometime overnight. The car police say Gilday was driving, a gray 2007 Nissan Altima with Maine lobster plate "FOREX," was found parked in the emergency room parking lot.
McCausland said Gilday has been arrested and charged with murder, and is currently en route to Waldo County Jail in Belfast.
A State Police Major Crimes Unit van is among other vehicles remaining this morning outside the residence on Waldo Avenue in Belfast where two people were shot Wednesday night.
Police around 11 p.m. Wednesday responded to the home, where a woman was killed and a man was critically injured by gunfire. McCausland Thursday morning said the man was undergoing surgery. For more on this story, visit www.penbaypilot.com.
