Nancy Coleman’s new etched prints at BIRCH

Damariscotta Mills artist and printmaker, Nancy Coleman, will be making a personal appearance at BIRCH home furnishings and gifts during the Wiscasset Art Walk, Thursday, Aug. 31 from 5-8 p.m. Meet Nancy and enjoy refreshments while taking in her new collection during the event.
Nancy has worked as a printmaker for a bit more than 40 years. She enjoys drawing as a means of expression and loves the technical challenges that arise from the process of developing her images on an etching plate and printing an edition. In most instances color is added by hand, using watercolor paints. Over the years she has also used her prints, along with her writings, to develop a number of limited edition books.
“My imagery comes directly from my surroundings - from everyday life and from nature,” Nancy said. “The images, the work, the printmaking process, all help bring the world into focus and give me a means to move back in my life to a simpler, less chaotic time.”
