The Kefauver Studio & Gallery presents “Small Gifts from the Coast,” an art show that will kick off the 2016 summer season at the gallery.  The show will run from May 28 to June 26. The show features new work by oil painter Will Kefauver, and the work of his guest artists. All of the art in the show will be 12” x 12” or smaller, and will feature paintings in oil, watercolors, and pastels.

Kefauver enjoys bringing guest artists to his gallery. “There is something so charming about the small jewels of artwork produced by the artists of the area,” said Kefauver. “We’re looking forward to helping to show them off.” These guest artists represent an intriguing range of mediums and styles: photographer Tom Kostes, oil painters Geoffrey Bladon, Dianne Dolan, Sally Loughridge, Brooke Pacy, and Helen Warner, pastel artist Nancy Lovley, goache artist Judy Nixon, acrylic artist Paula Horton, artist Patti Leavitt who works in oils and pastel, watercolorist Betsy Palmer, and Virginia Forrest who works in acrylics and watercolor. Kefauver is an award-winning oil painter specializing in landscapes. He has both studied and been an instructor at the School of Visual Arts and the Katonah Arts Center in New York. He is President of the Pemaquid Group of Artists, and is a Signature Member of the National Society of Artists and the Bristol Road Galleries in Damariscotta. Kefauver also teaches beginning and intermediate painting classes in oils and acrylics for teens and adults in his studio. “Small Gifts from the Coast” is the first of five shows that will be presented this year at the Kefauver Studio & Gallery. Each month will find a new show, with new guest artists exhibiting.

In July, Kefauver will present “The Boat Show,” August has the “Rock ‘n’ Wave” show, September will have the “Monhegan Days” show, and October will windup the season with the “6 x 6 x 6, #2” show. Come meet the guest artists at a reception to be held on Sunday, May 29, from 4–6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. And there is free parking.
