Susan Tan art display at Atlantic Motorcar Center
It’s January in Maine. Along with winds off the water, icy sidewalks and the potential for snow, here at Atlantic Motorcar we are welcoming the return of a talented local watercolorist, Susan Tan. Susan and her Georgia rescue pup Bo spent one morning hanging her vibrant, coastal pieces around the shop. They will be on display through March.
A resident of South Portland, Susan is an active part of Maine’s watercolor scene. In the warmer months, Mainers can find Susan painting with the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Artists. Some of the pieces included in this show are plein air scenes of Damariscotta and Wiscasset.
When asked about her style and creative process, Susan says: “I see my work as visual poetry, a symbolic synthesis between the physical subject and the spirit it conveys in space and time.”
AMC is honored to have a number of Susan’s seaside paintings, including several lobster boats. To learn more about our resident artist, please visit www.susantanart.com/maine2
We invite you to browse this gorgeous, Maine art collection during our regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
For the last 15 years Atlantic Motorcar Center, at 10 Oxhorn Road in Wiscasset, has donated our office and waiting room as gallery space for local artists to display their work on a rotating quarterly schedule. No commission or hanging fee is charged; the space is given as a service and enrichment to the local art community and the community at large. The general public is encouraged to stop by, view the artworks, and enjoy a hot cup of coffee.
For local Maine artists interested in displaying their work at our facility, please contact art coordinator, Lindsey, at Art@AtlanticMotorcar.com, we’d be delighted to work with you!
