Wiscasset man arrested for third time since March
A Wiscasset man has been arrested for the third time since March.
Kris Sliker, 57, of Wiscasset was arrested for violating the conditions of his release Saturday, April 26 after allegedly calling a witness no less than six times.
The witness reported the calls to the police.
Wiscasset Police Officer Paul Rubashkin was able to verify through Two Bridges Regional Jail that Sliker had made the calls from within the jail, where Sliker is currently being held on $10,000 cash bail.
Rubashkin was able to confirm the conditions of Sliker's release, which prevented him from having contact with a witness to a prior crime.
Rubashkin then spoke with Sliker, who reportedly claimed he didn't know the conditions were in place despite being at the video arraignment.
Sliker remains in custody at Two Bridges.
Sliker's first arrest came March 12 after reportedly selling a $5 marijuana cigarette to a minor in Wiscasset. Aggravated unlawful trafficking charges were levied against Sliker at the time, and he was ordered to have no contact with the witness.
On April 15, Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline received a tip that Sliker had violated conditions of his release. The witness claimed that they, along with the juvenile who had previously purchased the marijuana from Sliker, and Sliker himself, had all smoked pot again.
Sliker also allegedly told Cline that Sliker had the juvenile write a letter that recanted his original statement that he'd bought the marijuana from Sliker in March.
Following Sliker's second arrest, he faced violating the conditions of his release, tampering with a witness, and aggravated furnishing in scheduled drugs.
