Wiscasset man charged with domestic assault
A 20-year-old Wiscasset man was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault and other charges by the Wiscasset Police Department on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Steven Peaslee was also charged with criminal restraint, refusal to submit to arrest or detention and probation violation after the Wiscasset Police Department responded to a call from his girlfriend at about 5:35 p.m. December 15.
His 18-year-old girlfriend reported that she had been held against her will at her residence by Peaslee. She told Officer Perry Hatch that she had been pushed up against a wall and then restrained with duct tape on her wrists and ankles. Peaslee also allegedly bit her in several areas, according to the girlfriend. She had minor injuries from the bites.
It was also determined that Peaslee is currently on probation for a prior burglary conviction.
Officer Hatch and Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Jared Mitkus responded to the residence to speak with Peaslee about the complaint. Peaslee would not come to the door initially, however, he finally answered the door.
Peaslee is currently being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on a probation hold.
