Graduation countdown
Wiscasset Middle High School Class of 2018 members were in their final week of classes the week of May 28 and gearing up for graduation June 7.
"It's crazy to think this is my last full week of high school," Class Vice President and Student Council President Vanessa Dunn said in an email response Monday. "Throughout these last four years I have experienced so much growth as a person and have formed some of my favorite memories, and it is bitter sweet that this time is coming to a close so soon.
"I don't think it will really hit me that it is over until after I walk across the stage on graduation day. I think I will take the upcoming week to thank all of the friends, family, and especially the teachers who helped me get where I am now. I wouldn't have reached this last week without them."
Among recent highlights as the class nears diploma day was prom at the Taste of Maine in Woolwich. "Student behavior was excellent," Student Council Adviser Deb Pooler said.
A schedule Pooler provided states seniors have a series of matching practices, the alumni banquet Saturday, June 2, and the senior class trip Sunday, June 3 and Monday, June 4. They are going to Adventure Bound in the Forks, Pooler said.
Tuesday, June 5 brings another marching practice and at 6:30 p.m., Class Night in Stover Auditorium. Seniors walk through Wiscasset Elementary School in their caps and gowns Wednesday morning, June 6. Graduation is at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7 in Stover Auditorium.
