COVID-19 deaths recorded in Kennebec, York counties
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC reported Tuesday, March 31 an additional two deaths in the state from COVID-19, bringing the state’s death total to five.
The new cases are individuals with full-time residency in Kennebec County, where 12 people have tested positive, and York County, where 59 people have tested positive.
Both individuals were women in their 80’s and were in hospitals at their respective times of death.
The two new deaths follow a pair of deaths in Cumberland County announced March 29 and a single death in Cumberland County reported March 27.
The first death, recorded March 27, was a man in his 80’s.
The second and third deaths, recorded March 29, were a woman in her 80’s and a man in his 60’s. The male was an employee of the Maine Department of Transportation, according to a news release from the Governor’s office.
