Lincoln Theater no longer opening Jan. 1
Westerns book club to be held over Zoom
In light of what is currently happening locally with the coronavirus, Lincoln Theater has decided to remain closed longer than we had hoped.
We will not reopen on New Year's Day as previously targeted. While saddened by this turn of events, we feel it is the right thing to do. Please stay tuned. We will reopen ... just not yet.
In the meantime, we are still offering, in partnership with Skidompha Library, our Western Book Club and Film Series - just with some slight changes. “The Ox-Bow Incident,” the first film in the series based on “The Western: Four Classic Novels of the 40s & 50s” will be available as an "At Home Experience" to share with other members of the community by taking part in the following: reading the book, joining an online book club discussion hosted by Skidompha Library, streaming the film at home (we will provide optional links), and lastly joining an online post film discussion hosted by Lincoln Theater. Anyone interested in participating is welcome to do as many or as few of these offerings as they wish.
To enroll in “The Ox-Bow Incident” book club Zoom discussion group, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m., please email Jeannette Eaton. To sign up for the post film screening discussion, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 at 3 p.m., or if you have questions about the series, please email Lincoln Theater - info@lcct.org
Copies of “The Ox-Bow Incident” are available through Amazon, and used copies are available for purchase through Better World Books. Information on the next three novels and films - “The Searchers,” “Shane” and “Warlock” - will be made available in the near future. We look forward to sharing these unforgettable Westerns with you!
