Chocolate Church presents ‘A Congregation of Birds’ in art gallery
The Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath will exhibit four Maine artists in its gallery in a show titled “A Congregation of Birds”, with an opening event at CCAC on Friday, April 2.
A Congregation of Birds will feature artists Kathleen Buchanan, Berri Kramer, Karina Steele, and Susan Wilder. For the show, each artist has used a different medium to explore birds as a theme in their work. Exhibited works will feature encaustic (a painting technique in which pigments are mixed with hot liquid wax), linocut (in which designs are cut into a linoleum surface), mobiles, and other mediums.
The Chocolate Church Arts Center, at 804 Washington Street, will host a gallery opening event with the fur artists on April 2, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The event will take place mostly outdoors, with light refreshments served. Four people will be allowed to enter the gallery at a time, and face coverings must be worn by all attendees. The event is free to attend, but guests must register in advance. Tickets and more information can be found at chocolatechurcharts.org
A Congregation of Birds will be on display until May 15. While the work is up, CCAC will also hold periodic Facebook live events with artists speaking about their creations. Visit the CCAC website and Facebook page for more information, or call 207-442-8455 Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
