‘Shrek Jr.’ makes ’em laugh!
The Boothbay Region Y Arts group entertained good crowds at it two-performance (2 and 5 p.m.) production of “Shrek Jr. The Musical” on Saturday, Aug. 21. The story of the ogre, Shrek, his pal, Donkey, and Shrek’s pursuit of Fiona was a fun ending to this group’s summer shows.
The show featured 15 songs and 27 players, and the main characters, Shrek (Hamilton Pierpan), Donkey (Trey Tibbetts) and Fiona (Sarah Harris) were standouts. Also featured were Franz Finn at Farquaad, Sophia Mansfield as Dragon, Fiona Bishop as Gingy and Young Fiona, Scout Martin as Ugly Duckling and Teen Fiona, Ford Harris as Captain, Bishop and Knight, Anderson Pierpan as Pinocchio, Emma Castonia as Mama Ogre and Wicked Witch, Spencer Pottle as Papa Ogre and Little Pig, Roy Farbman as Young Shrek and Dwarf, Jojo Shea as Mama Bear and Knight, Kayla Watts as Baby Bear, Finn Sullivan as Dwarf and Knight, Alana LaCourse as Pied Piper, Maya Jacobs as Peter Pan, Elijah Smith as Rooster/Knight, Lila Lehouillier as Knight, Kenzie Farbman, Skyler Hyson and Kate Morton as Three Blind Mice, Lina Minzer, Tess Morton and Zuri Smith as Storytellers, and Phoebe Cook and Emerson Harris as Little Pigs.
The show was directed by Emily Mirabile with technical assistance by Ella Watts.
Following the 5 p.m. show, Mirabile presented gifts to three of her summer instructors, Phoebe Cook, Emerson Harris and Spencer Pottle.
The final production of the summer, “Winnie The Pooh,” will be performed by the youngest members of Y Arts on Friday, Aug. 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Y gym.
