Alna sets Monday meeting to plan selectman’s election
Less than a week after residents urged them to call an election to fill the months-long vacancy in the first selectman’s seat, Alna selectmen on Tuesday called a 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18 meeting on it.
The agenda, released Tuesday over town email, calls for the board to discuss and plan a special town meeting to fill the seat. A second item calls for “if necessary” and per Maine Municipal Association recommendation, shortening the time to file nomination papers. Monday’s meeting is at the town office and on Zoom, ID 837 9450 0596, passcode 063367.
The email notes the board was still set to hold its regular meeting, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18. That one is also at the town office and on Zoom, ID 860 4637 3789, passcode 905542.
