River Arts closed until Feb. 5
River Arts in Damariscotta is temporarily closed. Because of the current pandemic surge in our region, the decision has been made that in order to protect the health of our artists, volunteers, staff, and customers, River Arts will reopen on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The entry deadline for the upcoming “Black & White” show is Saturday, Feb. 12. The “Black & White” show is open to members and nonmembers. All mediums are welcome. Drop-offs may begin Feb 5.
River Arts is pleased that the juror will be architect and painter Jack Silverio. Artists may enter two pieces with a size limit of 48 inches (in any direction) including frame. Works must be delivered in person to River Arts at 36 Elm St. in Damariscotta for jurying.
For members the entry fee is $15 and for non-members it is $30. All submitted works must be for sale and River Arts retains 35% commission on sold works. The “Black & White” show will run from Feb. 15 to March 26.
Because of the closure, the Artists’ Group meeting scheduled for Jan. 13 will be canceled. The Artists’ Group is a monthly social group for artists to discuss art, life as an artist, and to get opinions on work-in-progress. The next meeting will be announced on River Arts’ website.
River Arts winter hours will be Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
