This ongoing community writing event, “Summertime Snapshots,” at The Merry Barn in Edgecomb is for writers and non-writers alike, 18 and older. It is held every first and third Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 p.m. June 1 and 15, July 6 and 20, Aug. 3 and 17. Cost for each session is to be paid at the door.

Join writer, artist and healer Kelsy Hartley for “Summertime Snapshots.” In this bi-monthly gathering, we’ll use creative memoir prompts to explore new ways of telling our own unique stories. Through exaggeration, mixing of characters, and getting to the “heat” of the story, we’ll engage, excavate, and cultivate our story in its “true form.”

We’ll begin by sketching our summer photo albums of “memory snapshots,” and explore the themes and stories behind the pictures and memories. Each session we’ll follow a format of reading, writing and sharing, cultivating momentum in our body of work.
