Dear Editor:

I’m writing to encourage people to vote for Les Fossel for the Maine House seat in District 47 - Alna, Jefferson, Whitefield, and Wiscasset.

Les has served conscientiously and well in the past and will do so again if you give him the opportunity. He stands for moderation and cooperative problem solving in a time of divisions and cares passionately about our environment – including both our precious environmental resources and the amazing human resources that make up our community.

Les is realistic about our capacity to make sensible change and often comes up with solutions to problems that no one has thought of previously. One of the reasons he can do this is that he listens carefully to people in many different situations and positions in our community.

I’ve known Les since we were in high school and can tell you that one of the predominant themes of his entire life has been service – to all the communities he has ever lived in and to all the people he cares about.

Please vote for Les on Nov. 8.
