Dear Editor:

We have only twice chosen to ask an elected representative for help. The first time, Chellie Pingree needed only to make a referral, which she did to a person who solved the problem quickly.

The second time our call was to Holly Stover who answered the phone and immediately agreed to help. In this situation the solution was much more complicated, involving helping Kit and me understand the issue better and seeing it through to success. Holly’s help was literally lifesaving, and we will be forever grateful.

Politics can be a game, a bid for power, a wrestling match of ideas, or an avenue for elected officials to help constituents. These two politicians were there when we needed them. We send them many thanks along with our vote. We urge you to vote for them too.
