Dear Editor:

The new Maine House District 47 includes the towns of Jefferson, Alna, Whitefield and Wiscasset. Residents there have an important decision to make. Do they want to move forward in time and space with a legislative representative who understands the issues in Maine today and has a clear-eyed view of what to do to actually help people, or with another rep who sides with the party that denies valid election results and would take away women’s right to choose? Or with a former member of that same party whose intentions are unclear at this time?

I think the best choice by far is the first candidate and he is Evan Goodkowsky of Wiscasset. His policy knowledge and energetic perspective is just what we need. Just saying you want to help people isn't enough. Our HD 47 representative must be able to assess a problem, find a solution, and work with others to make it happen. That’s why I am voting for Evan Goodkowsky and I hope everyone else in HD 47 does too.
