Vote for Tricia Warren
Dear Editor:
I have known Tricia Warren for 12 years. I write this endorsement because Tricia Warren is a friend, I am treasurer of her election campaign, and I strongly believe she would make an excellent state rep.
Tricia is committed to doing what she can to improve the lives of the people in our community. She has volunteered for different organizations and causes all of her life, but became formally involved when she was elected to the Boothbay Harbor Select board six years ago.
Tricia is smart. She does her homework and tries to incorporate multiple views into her thinking on specific issues. She is an independent thinker. She isn’t afraid to go against norms if her beliefs are otherwise. The divisiveness in today’s political scene troubles Tricia. She has spent her career in hospitality management so she has experience handling a wide range of personalities in a fair and professional manner, which will serve her well in Augusta.
Tricia has two teenage sons and is passionate about the education of our youth. She has been active with the local efforts to evaluate and provide options to the local school system buildings. Tricia has good ideas about how to make better use of the money available to educate our children, including a focus on vocational technical programming. She believes that our children are leaving Maine after graduation due to a lack of opportunity. The unemployment rate amongst trades is high, as it is very difficult to find qualified help. Providing relevant programming for trades in High School will provide options for graduates that don’t want to attend college, but want to enter the job market and stay in Maine.
Tricia will make a great State Representative and I hope you will join me in voting for her on Nov. 8.
