Pat Colwell & the Soul Sensations rocked ‘the House’
Pat Colwell & the Soul Sensations warmed up the grand old Opera House last weekend. Said House Executive Director Cathy Sherrill, “Great turn-out, incredible sax player, great horn section, loads of fun!”
While he was enjoying the band, Bob Crink was taking photos and had such a great time he wrote to the Register: “On Saturday I went to see Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations for the second time at the Opera House and I was not disappointed. This Maine R & B group played music from Motown, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Etta James, and their own original songs. There are nine members in the group playing keyboards, drums, trumpet, (two) saxophones, two lead female singers and their leader playing guitar, but what keeps the beat going is the driving bass guitar. The mixed age group crowd was dancing on both side aisles the whole night, ending up with more than 20+ concert goers in a conga line making two circuits of the hall near the end of the two hour show. This is a concert that you cannot help, if not dancing, keeping you hands or feet tapping all night.”
